Computer Training
for the 3rd Sector

In Your Time, In Your Place, In Plain English

How many hours have you sat, obediently listening to a trainer, thinking either, "I know that already", or "Slow down, you've lost me"?

Even the best trainer, delivering the most interesting material, can leave you no better equipped to do your work.

Our Mission Statement reads,
“To make the world a better place - starting where we live”.

One of the ways we seek to meet this aim is by offering relevant, useful and effective training to the Third Sector, allowing them to better utilise their IT investment and spend more time on front-line service delivery.

Cameron Gordon - Principal Trainer

  • Currently:

    • Director of Du Services CIC

    • Chair of We Are Langley Park

  • Formerly:

    • Chair of County Durham Strategic Partnership for Strong, Healthy and Safe Communities

    • Corporate IT Manager for HLM Architects

    • Director of Responsive Computer Training

    • Consultant IT Trainer for News International Inc

    • Consultant IT Trainer for Wycombe District Council

We are aware of how hard it is to secure training that can actually make a difference.

That is why our IT training programme has been specifically designed around the needs of the client - from their perspective.

As a Social Enterprise, we are familiar with the varying and diverse needs of individuals within the Voluntary and Community Sectors - needs that a traditional “Course” cannot hope to fulfil.

Trainees all have different:

  • Ability
Hardly anyone is now completely new to using a computer. Each person will know more or less than each of the others. No single curriculum can be 100% useful to each delegate.

  • Aptitude
We all learn in different ways and at different speeds. To have a single method at a single pace will always leave some bored and others behind.

  • Application
Different people will want to use the computer for different things. The marketing director, finance officer and secretary will each benefit from in-depth understanding of different aspects of the same software - and don’t need to learn about things that are irrelevant.

That is why our training delivery is via a menu of options that can be mixed and matched within a single day of training.

Fees:

To avoid being anti-competitive, our fees are kept in line with the market. The difference is what we do with them.

Director Salaries are capped, we issue no dividends, and all profits are reinvested in the company and in the communities with which we work.
